History Speaks Lecture Series: The Story of the S.S. Eastland

Enjoy the History Speaks Lecture Series: The Story of the S.S. Eastland May 3 from 4-5pm. Actor and historian Terry Lynch of HFK Presents will portray Ollie Sanders, a Western Electric employee, who was an eyewitness to the disaster of the S.S. Eastland. Relive the events, aftermath and ongoing legends that surround the sinking of the “Speed Queen of the Great Lakes” on the Chicago River on July 24, 1915. Day-of tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for youth ages 4 to 12, students and Settlement-6 members and above. Advance tickets save $1 each, Settlement’s Century Memorial Chapel, 523 S.
