Learn to play the dulcimer this April

Attend two mountain and hammered dulcimer workshops on April 12 and 19, at Garfield Farm Museum. The April 12th workshop will serve as a basic introduction and explore the history of the dulcimer. The April 19th workshop will cover more advanced techniques. The Mountain dulcimer session will be at 1pm and the hammered dulcimer session at 3pm. The dulcimer, the fore-runner to the piano, is a trapezoidal instrument played by striking the strings with hammers, much like climbing inside a piano to play. There will be instruments on hand for individuals that do not have their own. There is a $25 donation per session. Garfield Farm Museum is located 5 miles west of Geneva, IL, off of Rt. 38 on Garfield Road. Reservations are required: 630-584-8485,
