In addition to coaching varsity baseball, Frank Chapman will be working as an academic counselor and physical education instructor at the Academy.
Former Head Baseball Coach, David Rakow, announced at the end of the 2015 season that he accepted the position as the Director of the Academic Center at Marmion Academy and will focus on building that program.
Chapman, who was assistant varsity coach at Marmion in 2011, returns to the Academy from Freeport High School where he was assistant varsity baseball coach last season and the head freshman baseball coach from 2012-2014. Before becoming a coach, Chapman attended Geneva High School and lettered in baseball during the 1999 and 2000 seasons. He earned All Suburban Prairie Conference honors and All-Area honors from the Kane County Chronicle and Daily Herald in 2000. He then attended Southern Illinois University where he competed in the Missouri Valley Conference, graduating in 2005 with a B.S. History Education in 2005. Chapman has held memberships in the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association (2008-2010, 2012-2014) and the High School Baseball Coaches Association (2008). Chapman received his M.A. In Educational Leadership from Aurora University in 2013.
