A contemporary Japanese restaurant with an urban vibe, Shakou is coming to Main Street in St. Charles in Spring 2015, thanks to successful restaurateurs Aleks Dupor and Adam Garvanian, who opened the Libertyville location to rave reviews two years ago.
Shakou –translates to “Social Life” in Japanese -- will appeal to a sophisticated crowd that likes to meet frequently for business lunches as well as for Signature cocktails, sake and dinner with friends. The restaurant has been named one of the 2014 Top 100 “Hot Spot” Restaurants in America by Open Table who also named Shakou one of the Top Three Sushi Restaurants in Illinois for 2015.
Shakou will be available for corporate events, private parties and fundraisers. Shakou Cares, the social mission of Shakou, will be working with local nonprofit groups in the St. Charles area by hosting events and promoting their causes.
In addition to soups, salads, cold and hot appetizers and an extensive selection of individual nigiri/sashimi, Shakou features delicious signature maki. Customer favorites include Dragon Roll – with shrimp tempura, cucumber, avocado, topped with fresh water eel, unagi sauce, sesame seed and kizami bonito and Sunny Hill, with crab, cucumber, avocado and spicy mayo topped with avocado, unagi sauce, wasabi sauce and sesame seeds.
