Spring is finally here. As the cold winter morphs into warmer weather, Village construction projects are set to begin. Water main replacement and roadway construction is on the summer calendar. Please be aware of these areas and slow down while driving in construction zones.
This year, Adams St., Grace St. and Roberts St. (between State and John St.) will see new water mains. The Village notified all residents affected by this project with a letter. As a reminder, a temporary construction easement must be on file. For any residents who have not yet dropped off the signed agreement, please stop by the Village Hall to complete the necessary paperwork. For questions, please contact Paul Young, Water Superintendent at 630-897-8228, ext. 229.
The 2014 road improvement program will consist of street reconstruction of Randall Rd. between Oak St. and Orchard/Mooseheart Rd. Additionally, Oak St. from Acorn to Forest Ridge will undergo construction. Asphalt resurfacing takes place on Timber Oaks Dr., Mistwood Lane, Cottonwood Dr., Abbeywood Lane, Wildwood Dr., Eastview Rd. and Valley Rd.
Along with the pavement construction and resurfacing, there will be some concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk and storm sewer construction, as well as parkway restoration. Hilltop Rd. and Valley Rd. will see drainage work. Weather permitting; construction will begin shortly after June 1.
