The North Aurora Police Department, as part of its community oriented policing program, is offering the Citizens Police Academy beginning in February 2014. After completing the course, citizens will have a better understanding of what police officers do, the challenges of the work and how they can partner with police to keep our neighborhoods safe.

Classes will be held on Thursday nights from 6:30–8:30pm, beginning Feb. 20, 2014, and will go for approximately 10 weeks. Participants must be 18 years of age and live in the Village of North Aurora.

Pick up applications at the North Aurora Police Department from 7am–10pm. More information about the program and an application are available on the Village of North Aurora website at vil.north-aurora.il.us/forms.aspx. Direct any questions concerning the Citizens Police Academy program to Officer Robyn Stecklein at 630-897-8705, ext. 716 or rstecklein@vil.north-aurora.il.us.
